2024 SPEED and agility

Mites through High School

Speed and Agility camp is a 4-week program Tuesdays and Thursdays. This camp will run at an extremely high level of intensity pushing the skater well out of their comfort zone. This will be done by overspeed training, along with learning proper technique to produce a confident player that will have much more speed, quickness, and agility.   Cost is $295/player.

2024 Summer goalie camp

June 25 - June 28 - 9:00am - 4:00pm (times will vary for each group)

Mites through High School

We are so excited to be bringing back a full day goalie camp experience and we have partnered with incredibly experienced and fun instructors.  Each day includes two on-ice sessions and a variety of off-ice sessions to give your player the tools to take back to their training regimen.  This camp is open to goalies of all ages and will be split into multiple groups based on age and experience.   Cost is $680/player.

2024 Northern Roots Hockey School Camp

July 8-12, 2024 - Approximately 8:30am - 4:00pm

Our Northern Roots Sioux Falls Hockey School includes 2 on ice and 2 off ice sessions daily. The morning session consists of power skating, goalie specific training, skill development and small area games. Our afternoon session includes skill development and a full ice scrimmage.  Our off ice session in the morning is geared towards hockey specific training while the afternoon session is an outdoor activity.

We have all players split by both age and skill level. We will plan to have 2 on ice groups. Within each group, we break typically split up into 4-6 stations giving players much more personalized attention from our coaches.
 
Players are responsible for their own lunch.
 
T-shirt and jersey are included.

2024 SUMMER SKILLS SERIES

July 15 - August 9

All sessions scheduled to allow your player to choose any or all that work with your schedule.  Open to all Mites through Bantams.  Cost is $175/session.

Week 1 - Battle Session I - Monday, July 15 - Thursday, July 18

This 4-day camp is designed to help dial in on skills that will simulate to game situations including body contact. Players will learn how to win one on one puck battles by using positioning, contact and other puck protection moves. Battle camp will help the player develop proper technique through competitive drills, competitive games, and game situations.

                  - Group 1 - 1:15pm and Group 2 - 2:30pm

Week 2 - Stickhandling - Monday, July 22 - Thursday, July 25

It doesn’t matter how smooth of a skater you are if you can’t control the puck! Skate like the wind, but without proper stickhandling skills your ability will be limited. Develop your hands with stickhandling skills and you will be able to control the game! Be ready to take your game to a higher level. This stickhandling program will help your player learn how to handle the puck through quality repetition and instruction.

                  - Group 1 - 1:15pm and Group 2 - 2:30pm

Week 3 - Shooting & Passing - Monday, July 29 - Thursday, August 1

This clinic will teach you the moves so that you can execute when the opportunity is there. We will be breaking down different puck movement techniques each day. Learn the skills that will help you execute plays and capitalize on scoring chances!

2024 Fall 4v4 League

August 5 - September 12

Players entering U18 through U10 (2006 - 2015 Birth Years) divisions for the 2024-25 season

Cost is $275 for skaters (processing fee and Sales tax will be applied at check-out) and FREE for goalies.  The league will run for 6 weeks, from August 5 to September 12, with a break for the week of August 28.  The format will be 4 versus 4, with each team playing 10 total games, 2 games per week.   Games will be held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so each team will play 2 nights per week.

Tentative Schedule below.   Team Assignments and Final Schedule will be emailed out on or near August 1.  Earliest/youngest games are anticipated to begin at 5:30pm and the last games of the night are anticipated to be complete by 9:00pm.  Additional ice sessions, beginning earlier and/or finishing later in the evening may be added, based on registration numbers.

Division 3, made up of primarily Squirts and some Peewees, will be on Monday and Tuesday so each team will play both nights.  Game times are anticipated to be 5:30pm and 6:45pm

Division 2, made up of primarily Peewees and Bantams, will be on Wednesday and Thursday so each team will play both nights.  Game times are anticipated to be 5:30pm and 6:45pm

Division 1, made up of primarily High Schoolers, will be on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so each team will play on two of the four nights.  Game times are anticipated to be 8:00pm

***Age divisions will be adjusted to accommodate registration numbers and for the overall enjoyment of the league for everyone.

***A fourth division will be added if necessary.

Players will register as individuals and will be placed onto teams by SD Selects Staff.  Every effort will be made to balance the teams and divisions for a great experience for everyone.  Space will be limited. 

All fees listed are exclusive of sale tax and online processing fees.

Monday, Feb 19 - 8:30am - 3:30pm

Mites through Bantams

Come spend the day off from school with us!  We are excited for our annual Presidents Day event.  This years Tournament is open to 2008 through 2017.   All games will be played cross ice, with 2 games going simultaneously.  Each team will play a preliminary round of several short games before teams are seeded into a playoff and finals.  Earliest anticipated start time is 8:30am with expected finals done by approximately 3:30pm. 

Players will register as individuals and will be placed onto teams by SD Selects Staff.  Every effort will be made to balance teams and divisions for a great experience for everyone.  We anticipate building 3 age/skill divisions of competition with 4-6 teams at each division.  Final format details will be determined once registration is closed. 

Cost is $75/Player and $35/Goalie

Squirts through Bantams

This training group is for players looking for elevated defensive skill development.  High energy training environment with clear feedback and adjustment.  Ice sessions are Tuesday and Thursday for a total of 6 sessions for each group. Cost is $195 for each clinic.

Body Contact - 7:00 - 8:00pm

Peewees through Bantams

Players will be taught how to apply pins, proper angling techniques and how to give / take a check, both along the boards as well as in open ice.  Ice sessions are Tuesday and Thursday for a total of 6 sessions for each group. Cost is $195 for each clinic.
